Significant Investor Visa - Invest Victoria
It is for Permanent Residency. I went to one showcase last year out of curiosity. It is a VIC investment specific visa. They opened it for a brief period last year, filled up the quota very quickly and closed it for brief period of assessment. I saw a newspaper ad last week advertising another seminar. I suppose they have reopened it again.

Melbourne will have another good year but growth will be coming from the lower end of the market eg North and West markets instead of the higher median suburbs in the East as has been the case over the last 2 yrs

numero 1 - highest immigration in Australia

FHB demand - cap at $600k

    investor demand

can still buy affordable housing relatively close to city

service based industry strong in Melb

Melb not reliant on out of State investors... tick, tick. tick, tick, tick, ticks many boxes

From noob observation, this is how people keep their credibility despite multiple failed predictions:
    • Be confident.
    • Talk big, the bigger the better
    • Prediction should be something that most public members want to hear
    • Be right once

Yeah i would roughly agree with this.
Although i would say Melbourne at 8% not 12%. ..and hobart 5% and not 9%.
Hobart and adelaide will be primarily driven by cheapness ie affordability. .Melbourne and bris and sydney as well driven by fundamentals.
Perth driven ( downwards) by mining (or lack of).

    Predictions expire dec31 2016. :)

Lol you are right. I assumed it was VIC exclusive as both seminars (held overseas) are only talking about investment in VIC, and invited VIC govt representatives. It did not mention possibly investing in other states.

I suppose VIC is just more aggressive in marketing for investors?

For what I have seen here in Melbourne it will do at least 12%, it is crazy seeing how the outer suburbs are growing. Also Land Estates are doing well, crazy things there too. Land in Officer went up something like 30% in the last 6 months. It looks to me there is "Buy Fever" here.

not doubting that outer mel will do well, but the question is averaged to the entire market..so it will be balanced by the inner city units which will do awfully- bringing the overall down. Same in both brisbane and maybe sydney.

We should have a property tipping contest - everybody chuck in ten bucks for the year, we bet monthly market movements and winner takes all at the end! A little side investment, if you will ;)
