I'm a big fan of RTW tickets I find it easier to keep flying west if I visit Europe rather than flying East for 20+ hours, that really knocks me about.

That Finnair ticket looks good value, so I hope it's still available when I want to book for June 2019, and I've always found Helsinki is great for connecting elsewhere in Europe (Much better than Heathrow)

Ive got enough points left for first class rtw via qantas and one world. But their taxes are so high....
Looking ti do a aus to europe to usa to asia mid next year!

If you have qantas pointa. Its probably the best of the worst choices

Totally agree that RTW tickets are much better value than the a simple return flight and also help break up the long haul flights.

There was a sale about six months ago RTW for $3k with Virgin business class. It hurt to miss out on that sale!

A RTW can be good if you're going to the major destinations. For me, Amman Jordan, Cairo and Mexico City (our last major trip) are generally not major destinations. We did a far better fare than our local Flight Centre.

Well cattle class gets over booked and then the overflow goes to biz class so if you are late then it increases your chances to be part of the overflow.
