    Hi Everyone,

Out tenant damaged the wall and damage is very big, it will cost 1-2 k to fix it.
I have insurance with Terri Scheer,
Do I need to repair the wall myself then claim the repair cost with them or is like car insurance which is they need to allocate a repairer to fix the issue.

    Thanks in advance.

Is tenant still in property or moved out?

I'd fix it up (ie not let tenant do an unprofessional job of it that needs to be redone) and then charge to bond if they've moved out, or charge to tenant if they're still in.

Would only go to insurance if tenant has moved out and there were other things to also claim.

Terri Scheer almost always prefer you make the repair and then claim the cost, with photographic evidence before/after of course. You'll want to get two quotes, but they don't need to have come from an approved list or recommended from the Insurer.

What did Terri Sheer say when you rang them up?

1-2k sounds expensive. I would try airtasker to find someone who can fix it
