With all the talk of NSW public schools getting $$$ for air cond & solar, I realised the gap in education systems (public vs private).

The private system calls the students young men/young women (even in upper primary grades) whereas the public system still refers to Boys/Girls High School.

In this day and age why?

My wife was travelling on a plane during the week.

The carry on was too heavy, and they were about to charge her. So she took out a jacket, put it on, and had the carry on reweighed without having to pay.

Of course she took the jacket off and out it back in the carry on as soon as she was on the plane.

    Wow. Just. Wow.

Some people really do live in bubbles, and don't understand the concept of welfare.

I'm totally empathetic with those high income households who are now cut off from government benefits because they earn too much. If you're in a high income household, take a serious look at yourself and ask, do I really need government assisted childcare?

The electricity was out for half an hour tonight. It was terrible.

I wasn't able to unincline my recliner.

I have a brand new laptop - still boxed and with the shrink-wrap from the courier on it - sitting next to my desk.

It's been there nearly 3 weeks, but I haven't had time to open it and get it set up.

Could really use it this afternoon when I'm working away from the office for a few hours too :(

Will it make you feel any better that the battery is probably on minimal (shipping) charge & needs 4 hours for a complete recharge prior to using it.

Would take me more than a few hours to get it set up and ready to use anyway, which is what I was lamenting - I could be using it right now, but only if I had already unboxed it and set it up / charged the battery / etc.

I received a customer service award from one of our clients.

Two dilemmas: my job is to get suppliers to comply but Customer Service is for customer satisfaction - I mustn't have ticked off enough people.

Secondly I didn't get an invite to the presentation night  (they forgot to include our organisation).
