I want to go to gym today, but don't want everyone to think I'm going because it's a New Years resolution.

Flip it the other way, people at the gym are thinking the same way, they might not show up and then you'll get the whole place to yourself.

If you've been there before not an issue.

If you're considering signing up today it's a bit obvious ;)

It would be better if you buy a round.

It's so much more difficult to shop for presents these days- Christmas and birthdays.

I used to buy the old standbys of books, music or DVDs-- but with all of that available cheaply online, it's not worth buying for people.

    Too bad they're late. It's 2017 now...
What's the threshold by the way? And what did you do to yourself to almost reach the threshold?

    It's about $1,500 - linky

Other than a hospital visit, operation, copious xrays, physio etc & all the usual meds, nothing unusual.

After travelling to Nepal, Singapore, Chile, Argentina, Peru, India, UK and Cuba in the last 12 months I have 4 days of leave left no firm travel plans for 12 months (yet).

After upgrading the old media server with a heap of new storage capacity, I now have to move about 20TB of media from the file server across. The only problem is that the parity calculations limit the write-speed to around 30MB/s which will make that over a week and I can't do it by sneaker-net (copy onto a hard drive then walk it over to the media server and copy it off again).

He's waiting for his kindle books to be delivered.

Which is shameful really. Books made from Amazon rainforest trees when he could have used his own furniture for kindling.

I booked an Imax movie a week in advance and chose the ideal middle seats and went on to complain how far they were from the exits and it'll be forever to get out after the movie. The attendant rolled her eyes.
