Ok, call this a thread started out of lockdown boredom. I couldn't find one on here already so I started a new one. :)

I love cheeses, particularly soft ones (doesn’t really help with not wanting to gain weight, but anyway).

I would love to hear some cheese recommendations.

    Some that I like:
Gorganzola (really rich flavoursome, have on dark bread)
    Brie
    Camembert,

Halloumi is nice but you have to fry it and eat it with something like in a salad or as a meat for a burger or else it's too salty

Have a browse at the online store of Cornelius Cheesemongers. Some very yummy goods available.

I've been to Essential Ingredients in Canberra once or twice. Really good.

We bought some labna yesterday (soft yoghurty cheese). Quite noice.

The other fave is the Meridith Goat's cheese (or chevre if it wasn't a regional type name).

Fetta has been replaced by the chevre in our Greek-influenced salads.

But what's cheese without raiding the deli at the same time? Shaved prosciutto with rockmelon, salami on grissini, grapes, pickled veges and a good glass of Chianti.

Oops, there goes the austerity diet.

Any of Mersey Valley's sharp crumbly cheeses, on a ploughmans lunch with proper Branston Pickle ...heaven

Or soft blues like Gorgonzola or Danish. Not a fan of Camembert or Brie, unless it's really good quality.

    Parmesan Reggiano block, grated fresh

Jahlsberg cheese - love the flavour

One cheese I don't 'get' is Boccocini. Seems so flavourless and pointless. Are you meant to have it with salt perhaps? Maybe I'm doing it wrong ...

Kraft Cheddar, melted on toast with butter and maybe tomato. Two of these wipe out munchies.

Oh so many cheese - and depends on the mood and situation.

Love tangy crumbly feta in a salad - an oozy triple cream brie on crackers - a deep, mellow jarlsberg for munching on by the slab - a stinky firm blue that no one else will touch just because - extra sharp parmesan on pizza ... my cheese drawer simply is not big enough!

Crusty Italian bread, ripped bocconcini, tomato, fresh basil & cured meat (mortadella, ham or salami).

Burrata (very fresh version of bocconcini)

Warm ricotta (straight from the cheese factory).
