    Tamarama is 6.5 median. But even 4.5 is huge amount.

    4.5 mill would be too low imo - for that amount you'd buy 2 houses around me.

    well the home loan calculator on re.com came in at a lazy 26,000 a month

    You don't buy it as a first home with zero equity behind you. Plenty of Sydneysiders own homes worth 2.5mill or more. Simple trade up (or sideways or down) for many. Otherwise it could be bought by someone with a great business or perhaps overseas money.

    For price... i'll guess 8-9 mill.
