Ryan Property Specialists are a small specialist property management company, they're not a sales company. I'm helping to organise the event and will be speaking along with several others. They also manage some of my investment properties and are the best PMs I've had over the last 20 years.

This definitely isn't a marketing event for a developer or anything like that, it is purely an information evening. I'll be very disappointed if any of the presenters go down that path.

Just an update on this event on Thursday evening. There's about 100 people registered, we've still got about 20 seats available.

Most of the presentations are expected to be fairly short, about 5 minutes each. The primary focus of the evening will be the changes to the Residential Tenancies Act in Victoria.

Last week I attended an REIV hosted seminar on this topic. For the most part I don't think the changes are any sort of Armageddon, but it's very clear that some landlords and property managers are going to have to lift their game. Compliance with the act is going to be fairly significant and the fines for non-compliant properties are going to increase significantly.

I think for this presentation alone, it will be worth attending. To sweeten the deal, there will also be free food and drinks.
