I'm not sure why you are making it bigger? which I'm guessing you are if you are to fit a 900 wide shower and 1500mm along the back wall.
The size you have is adequate for a pretty good ensuite

I 100% prefer myfs suggestion and less work

the only thing is my mates and my mum are saying make it bigger  (she has same setup yet slightly smaller 1.7x1.9 ensuite at home and hates it)

    Less work is my preference

Are you looking to sell, retain as PPOR or rent out?

I can't believe they are voting for a smaller WIR :p
I think the extra 30cm you have does make a lot of difference. That takes it from a 900 x 900 shower into something more spacious and desirable

This layout (above) gives a nice large area to shower, allows a sliding door and you get to keep your robe outside. I think this is great.

We have a 1200 x 940 shower (like this one we put into a recent IP renovation) and love it. We had a 900 x 900 shower downstairs which we've now enlarged with no door, and I hated having to use it. I'm not a big person, and even I felt claustrophobic in a 900 x 900 shower. If I had an Ensuite , I'd want a toilet.

Would be a deal breaker for me for a PPOR.

My only concern is window would restrict shower to being 900x900

You could extend the shower along the back wall if you were happy to have a smaller vanity around 800mm or make the window smaller

The other thought which may have no bearing

The house is over 26sq not inc garage and veranda’s
Is having the ensuite small’ish a turn off?

Not at the expense of a WIR imo.

Surely a 26sq house would have a WIR to the master.

I agree. I think putting the additional toilet in the en-suite now that I’ve seen the layout is critical and I think the current size of the en-suite is adequate as it’s not an overly large house.

If the plan is to scale, the easiest and cheapest solution may be to put a toilet where the hand basin is, then install a hand basin backing on to the WIR.

It's an ensuite not the main bathroom. Provided that you aren't losing anything to achieve it immune existing space, it can achieve the goal - better utilisation of the space.

I agree this would be easiest and cheapest solution, but if the existing fittings are old, tiles are old or anything needs replacing then perhaps now is the time to enlarge it, especially if you can also keep the WIR.

That would also make the WIR more usable as wall space is important there.

Make sure you have a good exhaust fan, steam from a shower will make the clothes musty / moldy in no time.

We moved our entry door from entering via the WIR and did a Barn hung sliding door on the outside of the Ensuite and WIR to give us better access, we are also double brick so couldn't do cavity slider.

If you do the above door change access from the room and not the WIR I would swap the toilet and vanity, so you don't look at the toilet from the room.

Then you would put it on the same wall as the shower there's limited legroom if the WC looks at the shower ie same orientation as the existing WC.

Ensuite's without toilets were popular back in the late 70's - 80s. I've got one.
Tiny en suites quite close to the bedroom are a bit of a turn off, unless I was like 92 and unable to walk down the hall. No one wants a whiff of toilet smells when they are sleeping.
I can see the appeal of two toilets though.
Ensuites without a loo, it was a thing, had it's time, and now it's pretty much accepted that a ensuite has both toilet, vanity and shower.

After playing around with the configuration Of the shower and leaving the room as is but putting in a cavity slider
anything bigger than a 900 x 900 shower is really going to be a squeeze with drying ones self and moving

    would 900x900 be ok?
