    Hey all,

    Quick question!

Renovating our ensuite at the moment, dimensions being approx 2050x2100.

I will be having the shower and vanity along the same 2050 wall.

I have figured it have two options:
    1. Double sink 1200mm vanity & ~850x950mm shower
    2. Single sink 900mm Vanity & ~1150x950mm shower

Property is a 3 bedroom Villa and the other bathroom is a larger bathroom with a shower, separate bathtub, and 900mm single vanity.

I am currently leaning toward the double vanity sink?

Screen Shot 2017-11-16 at 1.49.54 pm.png I'll go against the crowd and say bigger shower. Our downstairs shower is 900 x 900 and even for me at 5'2" I feel boxed in.

Our upstairs bathroom shower is 1200 x 960 glass shower with sliding door. Our bathroom is 3m x 2.1m. Clever use of space (and much planning by me) mean we don't feel squashy. We have an in-wall loo, big shower, big stone bath and wall hung basin.

We have a single sink and only two of us using the bathroom, and are retired, so we have no morning rush.

Could you meet in the middle? Have a 900 wide trough style vanity (or wall hung) with two sets of taps. You get it all then... big shower and still able to both use the vanity at the same time if needed.

I do really like this idea of a 900mm wide trough.
Just give an open shelf underneath to hold the items that would normally be placed on the basin.

We have a niche above our wall hung basin with a two door glass fronted cabinet pushed into the wall above it. Clever storage has made our smallish bathroom feel spacious.

Edit: Wall hung vanity for us with no storage is countered by the large two door mirror vanity and wall niche/shelf above the sink plus we have a two door linen cupboard that used to open to the hallway, but we made it open to the bathroom instead, so all our towels, sheets, spare soaps etc are in there.

Without that, I'd have pushed even more storage into the wall cavities or made storage at least for towels within the room.

I vote bigger shower.. the double sink is overrated in my opinion. Particularly when you lose so much storage space from the bench and drawers (from plumbing).
The number of times when two people have to use a sink at the exact same time is not worth killing a floor plan over.

Bigger shower every time for me.

First Australian house we built had double basins, twice the cost, twice the cleaning, and we were never in there together.

Definitely shower, nothing like being able to relax and not feel boxed in. It's so annoying trying to shave your legs and avoid getting your hair wet in a standard sized shower (1st world problems) although if you're a man you might not understand :D

I think shower for practicality every time. I imagine a bigger shower would be more useful more of the time than having two basins usable at once.

However, decision gets trickier if you're thinking for aesthetics, and I have to admit there are some layouts that would look better as double basins rather than larger shower.

    Have a similar predicament
Am going a larger shower, with one ceiling rain head and a wall mount hand rose, the vanity will be wall hung with the basin offset (#morecraproom)
As @bashworth said for most of us ;)
Also per @wylie comments, recess built into wall cabinet over to store more items , you cant find :(

Here is the room layout i have to play with:

    - Bottom right is a sliding door
    - Under 'Wall A' is a 600x600 window
    - I was going to have the toilet top right corner
    - Shower bottom left corner, running long wise against the 2100mm wall
    - As we have a sliding door, my plan was to bring the swing of the shower door essentially to the edge of the sliding door (i could probably push a 1150x850 shower with the 1200mm vanity?) It will leave 100mm between the sliding door, and the swing of the shower door.
    - Vanity was to be top right corner, against Wall B

The only area i can have the shower is in the bottom left corner.

We already have a 900mm vanity in our current bathroom, and since it's corner fitted we already have no space. with this 900mm vanity and larger shower, it will be lodged between a shower screen and a wall so even less space!

Managed to pick this up for $150!

    Thoughts?

Is there a reason you can only have the shower in the bottom left hand corner?

Just did a quick idea. Tuck the loo behind the door. Even though the door slides, this way you don't look at the toilet.

This plan shows an 800mm basin and the other shows a 1000mm basin placed under the window with the shower placed the other way.

I wanted to have the vanity along the LHS wall, so we could hang a shaving cabinet for storage.

So due to the above, and the swing of the door, and wanting to hide the toilet in the top RHS - i figured the shower had to go in the bottom left.
