As others have said, it is all about falling rates and the hunt for yield. When you only have to discount bond yields of <1% then dividend yields of 2-3% start looking pretty good.

Even stronger is the case for stocks with the potential to grow earnings, that’s why anything with prospects for growth in this environment is trading at ridiculously high PE multiples - tech stocks etc...

Is this a golden opportunity to buy? Or should we wait till after the dead cat bounce?

Sigh. I assumed the flurry of dung flinging was about share market activities.

Those who sold did to someone who bought. Cannot be any other way for a price to actually change. What does it say about the views of those who bought? I do not recall ever seeing in the media that aspect addressed. And I probably won't.

I have been watching Boris Johnson speak and someone asked a question like the one you asked..

Boris came back with the word ''Boosterism'' and not knowing what it means i looked up what it means..

It's in the Oxford English Dictionary --boosterism is the ''the expression of chauvinism''..

In another dictionary --it's the art of talking something up,it could be a asx top 20 or one own reputation ..

It's always a good time to buy if you don't need to sell ..imho..
