US is flying, but you still need to buy the right product etc. more than happy to guide you in the right direction. I would still be buying for cash flow, growth is a massive bonus

    Thanks @MTR

That also shows how important to have a good team (PM in US, accountant, broker etc)
Any rough idea on the average amount one needs to spend to get in the market (reliable property-regular rent and hope for growth and less tax issues )?

    2018 I have three goals on the investment side;

    - dabble in equity markets for quick hits etc. will be utilising the wife’s margin loan for this
    - start building up quality blue chip shares/etf in 2018 and continue with time in the market. Will utilising joint margin loan for this
    - keep an eye on the property market/property chat forums and look to buy a Sydney property over the next few years

    1. Enjoy having my husband around and support his new business
    2. Finish terrace reno and have it tenanted by Feb; finish duplex build by June (fingers crossed); start the new JV project build; build a granny flat in Logan
    3. Look around for another project (or two) 2nd half of the year
    4. Find business partner to take over existing business
    5. More PC meetups, more time with kids, still have some time for a break :D

Next year is a consolidation year for us. Paying down PPOR, debt recycling into shares and possibly a dev block, selling an IP to fund the above, continuing to renovate the PPOR.

Trying not to travel too much!

I have done the buying and in the process of holding.

There is only one thing left to do in 2018 for a typical investor like myself........Pray!!!

I'm currently trying to figure out what to do with myself next year.

I've not worked a lot this year, partially due to health issues. I'm in IT, and most of the opportunities I'm seeing tend to pay me the same, or even less, as I was earning a decade ago. It's hard to have enthusiasm for something when it's not going anywhere.

I'm trying to push into more of a leadership or architect role, which might give me something to dig my teeth into.

The second option would be to do something on my own. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to get a project going this year. If I want to do something, it'll probably result in me digging into savings, so hopefully I can get a better rate of return than the stock market. :)

As for investments, I'm not looking into buying into property in the next year. I think that Melbourne is likely to follow Sydney down, so renting and saving should prove to be a more optimal strategy.

(Watch me get proven completely wrong.)
