Comments last week in my lunchroom have included:

"Tim Manderson is really nice, I think we should vote for him".
Tim Manders is the State rep for an electorate adjoining the one this voter lives in.

"How do I vote for the party that wont cut funding for schools?"
Um, maybe read the policy statements on their websites to find out what they are saying about funding for education.

"You know the government is going to privatise Medicare".
Yeah, as if. Like what business entity would buy it. It is one of the biggest loss-making organisations in the country. I didn't hear a peep out of any of you when the state government recently announced they are taking capital from QSuper to finance infrastructure. What's that? You don't know what QSuper is? Or you don't know what infrastructure is.

Please add yours. I want to ensure that I am not the only one forced to exist all day in a meaningless life-sucking pit of economic stupidity.

They'd buy it if it came with enough government support dressed up in some form or other. But - as with too many other things - it's impossible to have a sensible discussion on the merits of otherwise of doing this because of the politics.

Best one I've heard is how both Parties claim they will return the deficit to surplus, but so far both have only increased the deficit each year in Gubb.

Sorry, I don't know much about prisons. Has either party been advertising ad nauseum about them this time around?

it was an example of a non income generating government department/service like medicare being privatised, my point is that if you apply the same logic then it is certainly possible that there would be interest in medicare if it was ever privatised.

not saying that i believe it will be at the moment btw

I haven't heard too many dumb statements but having spoken to several work colleagues in a couple of different electorates around the country. What suprised me was although they have always been coalition voters l they were planning on making a protest vote for different reasons.

Yep. In the daily rag, Labors negative gearing policy the best thing for youth since Whitlam... comparing Labors negative gearing policy with free education. Since Whitlams education policy kept thousands out of uni, I guess they are comparable. ;)

Like all elections, it is basically, "the other side is more **** than us, vote for us".

Gough got me in. For that, I will be forever grateful.

If Bill gets rid of NG and reduces the CGT Discount, he will be on my blacklist until he revokes it.
