Hi, I recently bought a property next to a vacant plot. After enquiring with the council, I realised that the plot is vested for drainage purposes and contains drainage infrastructure and easements and there will be no construction on this plot. Should I be concerned about this? Appreciate your help

If you ever subdivide or develop, you may be able to get an easement to drain water onto the land.

Just make sure the grass is mowed regularly. Why would you worry about a vacant plot that the council owns that's kept quiet? Gives you a nice buffer from neighbours hopefully.

What hobartchic said... yes, it's a vacant lot - with an Authority as a neighbour you can guess it will be maintained well, and not used as a dump for old furniture etc.
And in the future when you develop (?) no neighbours to be concerned about

Council's property department still gets notified as the adjoining landowner and has a separate right of objection distinct from the planners/assessors.
