    This thread is interesting as I think single storey new builds in Sydney are less common than double. Note that I mostly stick to the North West part of Sydney though - I haven't looked at the new estates in the South West and West.

    Double Storey homes only start to make sense when land prices get to a certain level. i.e. If you want a certain house to block ratio, is it cheaper to buy a bigger block to offset the larger ground floor size of a single level home or build a double.

    The difference is about $30,000-$50,000 like-for-like.
