We have this type of cork tile installed in our kitchen area. We are thinking of getting rid of it and replace with laminate floors. But does anyone know if this contains asbestos?

Unlikely, if it's just cork tiles.

However, if it has a non cork backing and was installed a few decades ago, I would get it tested.

Also, always, always wear a P2 mask when dealing with reno materials that may create dust.

I believe it was installed around 70th. Previous owner said that it was just cork tiles but who knows....
I wonder if anyone on PC have had dealt with this type of cork tiles in the past...
