Does it irritate you when the price is not listed?

Expected price missing is annoying, but it is topped by lack of address & even worse is when the agent does not respond, or evades these direct requests for that info, or whom never answer phone etc.

There are a number of agents that do this in certain areas, usually I just ignore all ads by them.

Other ones that annoy are... Express sale..... express my rear

A new one I have seen recently, is Red Alert...... Red to me means, stop. :)

Basically, these evasive things are a red flag to never use them, they often do the vendor a dis service, no doubt about that.

Ah! Thanks Dan but I'm on an Apple iPad. What's the apple process for this?

Yep, it is the time thing, apparently annoying lots of people is a good business idea :)

In regard to database, yes, that is what they are up too, ironically I have found a loty of agents will call 6, 12, 18 months later to enquire if you are looking for a property still, I may be odd, but this is even more annoying, for me I would not deal with anyone so obstructive, that is I suppose unless they threw an amazing deal at me (never happened, not once).

Must work for them, can't imagine so many doing it if it did not work out for them, not sure how they measure this though.

This is the best, thanks. No more bothering agents with the price guides for Auction properties!

If you only use an iPhone/iPad to browse, you could use an app called 'View Source'.

This is happening a lot in Hobart ATM. Very annoying! As if agents aren't annoying enough already!
Anyone help me with the "source code" trick on an apple device?

Find out what browser (prob safari on apple) and search for how to reveal source code.

Yeah & the listing sites enable agents to do this sort of thing.

I also bet they think this will avoid any under quoting probs.

Just a heads up to all this doesn’t work anymore, well for me anyway.

I found a way to get around it is to search for “minPrice” in the source code and it shows up min/max price range. The ranges are wide, some I’ve seen with a 500k difference between min and max price. I guess they do it so the property gets more hits when people search by price.

Opposite in Melb - agents set the search bracket lower so the prop comes up in a search in a lower bracket. So a house expecting $3m will want to appear when people are searching $2.5m+

Non-disclosure is a double edged sword - we have got some nice deals because people assumed it was going to be expensive or didn't bother asking - which lowered the number of competing interests.

This is exactly what I was talking about, the hidden search range is typically lower than the expected price..

E.g. 500k on hidden search 700k expected sale or whatever numbers you wish to use :)

I think you now have to search for the word "price:" and it will give you a range that the agent put the price in for.

    For example price:"600k_750k"
