Hi all, just completed a kitchen reno and received bill from plumber.

To my surprise he has charged me $150 + GST for use of crimping tool ! This is a tool that makes him more productive as it eliminates the need to solder. It's very quick.

This was never mentioned in any discussion prior to commencing works.

Anyone else heard of a plumber charge extra for a tool they own ?

How was he going to install the tap if he didn't use the tool?

Do you mean his bill is itemised and there is an "extra" $150+GST just for picking up a particular tool that should have been part of the job? That's weird. Why pick out one part of the job and one tool and charge extra?

    Good replies ...

The quote did not mention anything about a separate crimping tool charge.
