Ok, heaps of awesome threads and discussions taking place. This is a yes or no vote only regarding property.

Can you edit the poll so that the question is a something like...

"Do you think negative gearing should go?"

Then a simple yes/no response is possible.

Create a third, "Doesn't matter" option.

Yes: negative gearing should stay or go
No: negative gearing should not stay or go

Bigger issue: negative gearing applies to shares and other listed equities, commercial and residential investment properties and other asset classes (I am sure).

Does the question apply to all asset classes or just property?
Does the question apply to all property or just residential property?
Does the question apply to all residential property or just "not new" residential property?
What is a "new" residential property? (ATO already has rules on this in relation to GST)

Vote: should we be able to start any more negative gearing threads? Simple yes or no. :p

At last, a simple question. We shouldn't argue over it either! :p

What if I think negative gearing should go, but Shorten's idea sucks? :(

I assume you mean negative gearing for just property too, right? Or do you mean all forms of negative gearing (shares etc).

Omg, I don't know how to edit the post.

@Simon Hampel , how do I make a change to the question? Not the thread title as that's been changed.

I must admit I'm kind of curious to see what happens if it does go.

Its amazing to me......so far 18 investors voted yes to go.

Its like taking $100 from your pocket and happy to throw it in the fire.

    Just amazing.

I guess sometimes, some people are willing to see past their own vested interests.

    Oh really.

Besides myself, I'm only thinking of my parents, wife, future family, employees and company.

Their interests far outweigh Mr Potato Chip Couch watching Dr Phil all day.
