Only on the windows.... it's the only way to stop the husband from escaping.

You could spruse that up and turn it into a study / bar.
Desk below the "bar" with chair and power outlets etc then shelves for books or bevvys.let the buyer choose it's purpose ;)

Geez, I have both. What does that say about me?

Most nights, I get drinks from the bar and go into the home theatre to watch movies/sport.

Now I know what is causing my dizziness most night - it is those revolving doors!!!

Our PPOR has a Powder Room - it is the most used bathroom in our house (and we have four).

I notice that most top-end homes have one.

A powder room is just a toilet with basin. Pretty common these days.

That is what a powder room is. The benefit is that you can have a less than pristine bathroom and as long as you keep the powder room clean a visitor always has somewhere to go that is clean.

    I don't have one .

Well my PPOR has a bar, a home theatre and 2 powder rooms. However at the moment the bar and home theatre room right now is used as storage as it is downstairs and our entry is first floor. Once the kids grow older though I will start chucking stuff out and start using it .....

I've noticed Bong Rooms haven't gone out of fashion in the Druitt. Quite versatile as they are used as a dining room and a lounge room. Heck, they are a dining room and lounge room lol.

Didn't want to install a fixed bar at home so i made this. I keep on moving stuff around so works perfectly for the its purpose! I wouldn't mind a fixed bar in an entertainment room though.

Yes, it's the name of the room, not the function that is quaint. It's a name from the 18th century. Powder rooms used to be a small room in a home off the public areas where people would apply extra powder to their wigs. A long time after that, when toilets were invented, those rooms often had a toilet for guests to use. Ladies, who never spoke of such things, would say they were going to 'powder their nose' if they wanted to go to the toilet. Project home builders like to call the 'downstairs dunny' a 'powder room' because they think it makes it sound a bit more up-market.

Us folks in the country call it a powder keg - we keep @dattos' 'tabaccy' and gun powder in it. Just to be sure, we put bars on the windoz too and a big bolt on the door just in case.

Lol I literally had plans for a home theatre in my house but changed it to a bar.

I figured a home theatre would be redundant because I have a 75inch tv in my lounge room that makes the projectors even at the movies look like garbage. I cant imagine myself at home ever saying "okay now lets go into a dark room with no windows to watch a movie on a similar sized screen but with worse quality visuals."

I dont even like going out to the movies to watch new movies any more because the picture quality is so bad and the theatre smells like old curtains.

However a big bar where we can do a home brew and have it on tap right next to our ping pong table and pool table. That will be getting a lot of use.

We have friends who have a cellar off their massive theatre room, its quite spectacular, all below the house. Dire Straits performing on a big screen is pretty amazing and the cellar at arms length makes for a very nice evening and even better we walk home as they are around the corner from us.;)
