Came across a situation today, where an ex-employee (or their estate?) is suing for a dust disease.

The employment ended more than two decades ago, and the company operating the business wound up, as was a related company that owned the property the business operated from; also two decades ago.

Directors had no knowledge of any health issues then or now.

I'm not sure how one goes about proving the source of the dust, but could the ex-directors have any personal liability if the source was found to be from the property or the business? ie from a statute of limitations perspective - well and truly more than 7 years

Normally directors wouldn't have any liability for a company's legal obligations anyway.

Proprietary limited liabilities, so I assume the liabilities is bugger all now the company wound up and has 0 value
My understanding unless the directors broke the laws, he is protected
