Where does one draw the line between a person selecting an IP and a polly who has done similar based on public knowledge (rather than their intimate knowledge of an infrastructure project? Not declaring it to the register of interests.

Jackie Trad sells investment property after probe

Anyone want a property near the new station (at the same price that the deputy's investment vehicle paid?). Have Brisbane prices increased since March or the announcement? Is this news or a beat up?

Our standards for politicians are way too low. There should be zero tolerance for 'oopsies', particularly when they relate to conflicts of interest (perceived or actual).

Apparently she will sell the house to a family trust in order to remove any conflict of interest.lol.

Joh Bjelke was notorious for conflict of interest caper. Saw an interview of him where he admitted to it and claimed there was nothing wrong with it lol.

Must be the effect of too much Qld sun. Go the Blues.

I would assume that the issue is that the property is in a trust controlled by her husband not in a blind trust.

The main problem wasn’t the purchase, it was the failure to declare it. Also the probability that she knows more about future projects in the area than the general public.

As deputy Premier and treasurer, she should have known better, there have been enough publicised cases of politicians failing to disclose assets. Then to claim she “didn’t know, because her husband bought it”, is ludicrous.

Quite rightly, the issue was referred to the Integrity Commission, and I suspect the proposed sale is on their advice.

She paid $695K and will sell it at the same price. If you want it, go for it! I doubt she can sell to a related party as the sale will be scrutinised by journalists.
