I'm interested in restoring my deck (8m by 5m) but not sure how to go about it.

How would a beginner like myself start this DIY project. If you have any experience or recently completed deck project, do share your thoughts/process.

So far I have the following process.

    1) Nail punch/remove nails to create a smooth surface
    2) Remove old paint either by sanding or using a wood stripper
    3) Stain

    Any feedback is welcome :)

What wood is your deck, what paint is on it, how does it look? Probably need pics to get an idea.

Without seeing it, proper hose, brush and clean at the minimum before oiling.

    Look up the Renovate Forum.

They have a whole section on decks - including an enduring (‘sticky’) post on restoring decks.
