For those of us enlightened (see what I did there?) enough to have daylight savings - a reminder that it finishes Sunday morning.

If you're having difficulty adjusting your clocks, here's a handy little guide:

Smartphone will adjust automatically provided it is configured to do so. I disable this feature as I travel interstate all the time for work and like to keep it simple. I have seen a few network errors on the morning when daylight savings ends/begins.

You have to add "check/change battery in smoke alarms" - you don't want it going off an hour after the first hint of smoke. :p

I hate daylight savings! Thought I'd love it when we moved to ACT but I guess I am a Queenslander through and through. It's been more of a nightmare since I had my son 18months ago. Babies and daylight savings don't mix.

A big plus for this weekend is that DH is on night baby duty this Saturday so I should get another hour sleep:)

You're crazy. DLS is the best thing since sliced bread. It's so depressing getting home from work and its already dark. We live walking distance from the beach, so being able to walk the dog down there at 8.30pm was awesome.

Dog was just one example. There's also a beach front pub down there and it seems quiet in the morning :p

My problem with daylight savings is this Sunday, I'll be trying to enjoy the extra hour sleep in and Tessie the Labrador will be leaning over me saying, "Get up, I need my breakfast".

I do like it overall though. I just wish it started a month earlier and lasted a month longer.

Yep, I understand QLD / NT are different and don't need it up there. When I lived in Perth I wished they'd divided it in half (inline with QLD / NSW border) and given the bottom half DLS. I grew up in Perth which didn't have it, but couldn't imagine my life without it now. Its so great.

Nah - as much as I love daylight savings (send the kids out to run around in the back yard after dinner ... or have fish+chips or a BBQ at the park in the evening and let them play until it's too dark) ... extending it through to the first week in April is a bit of a stretch ... so dark in the mornings.

Twice this week I've had one of my kids come in to my office just after 6am asking when I'm going to bed ... it's pitch black outside and they think it's not yet midnight.

I think beginning of March is a more appropriate time to end it.

I would definitely want it living there, it makes sense.
The amount of daylight hardly changes in the tropics so its irrelevant really.
I spent a little bit of time in NZ as a child and in summer it didn't go dark until 10pm. Really hated going to bed when some of the kids in the street were still outside playing.

The dog likes to sleep in o_O

If the clock is moved forward an hour then our building operating costs are reduced as an systems aren't battling with the heat late in the pm.

    This Sunday!?
    I thought it's on Easter?!
I'd enjoy the extra sleep though :)

I think it should have started much earlier and stop early March

I moved to Brissie approx. two years ago from Canberra and I miss Daylight savings so much! I wish they'd introduce it here. It's pretty dark in the middle of summer by about 6:30pm. Then all the mozzies come out so you can't enjoy the beautiful nights that are here. Such a shame.
