May have been covered previously but couldn't seem to find a thread.. Hypothetically if a tenant was to date the landlord of a property where would the landlord stand legally? More so what would happen if you were to move in with your tenant into an IP? I'm asuming the property would no longer be considered an IP but rather a PPOR with a boarder or similar? cheers!
Legally the landlord would be playing 2 roles. When would the rent stop? If you move into an IP it would probably be your main residence, but that doesn't mean it stops being an IP. If it is income producing it could be still.
you still looking at beating mr taxman! lol rent your IP to your significant other, then just have sleep overs everynight. have a second tooth brush at another address for mr taxmans interests. the tootbrush may be tax deductable (consult a sober advisor on these matters)
Haha Bob you should start your own financial advisory service! It's always a constant battle with mr taxman
hmmmmm...if they are going to take half of my problems away with them then it might be an option..... oh scrap that, I need my wheelie bin !
Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Love is love and it can blossom anywhere. I was fixing a leaking toilet in my IP. The magnetism between the sweet young Asian lady tenant and myself could have thrown Earth off its axis. Unfortunately I left a horrible stench in the loo after using it and had to make a quick exit.
