We have a small % of our portfolio in crypto, which has now turned into a larger portion!
Tempting to put more, but best to stick to the plan so no..
Loving the run of ETH - expecting it to correct soon.

Conservative estimate is $10k by year's end. There will be a cooldown until 2.0 / optimism / etc kicks into gear and then it's moon time

Not just urges. I've got property on the market. Selling more than half into the best sellers market I've seen in a very long time.

Must clarify though that my plan is not to go long at the top.. I'm planning to add USDC/Tether to trade the juicy futures premiums and other arbitrages that I see every day. Gotta get it before the institutional traders come and arb it all way. Also will put into DEFI for the yields. Can no longer justify buying shares now that I'm skilled up in managing the risk on these things.

It's an emotional decision for a lifelong "buy and hold" property investor like me to part with property. But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that won't always be this massive. Yields will come down and markets will get more efficient eventually. No point holding out for another 10-20% on property when we can make 20-100% APR on US dollars with no price exposure.

    Good point Dan.
There will be some more wild moves along the way.
But if Crypto is part of the future of money supply there are some exciting times ahead.
As always, don't invest more than you can afford to lose - for anyone thinking of going deep into Cryptos! This all could come crashing down to zero as well...

I currently have negative $237,043.50 invested into crypto. i.e. over the years I've cashed out my original investment plus that amount. Happy days

I don't feel bad for him, it's DOGE coin.. he made a pure gamble. It's the same as someone that went to the casino and put it all on red or black.

DOGE was still overpriced at 3c, it's just the ugly step-cousin of Litecoin. Its claim to fame is being the most favoured coin for ticktock pump and dump marketing.

The people I feel bad for are those that short DOGE coin, fundamentally it should crash so hard.. but timing is wrong because it's being manipulated to pump the price worse than any other. The poor souls who get in last will be left holding the bags.

2017/2018 has left us scarred, PTSD :)
"things are different this time" is what we hear, but I'm hedging my bets.. can't go all in. Something like 60/40, and gradually take profits as the parabola picks up.

liking this thread... I chucked in $300 into Doge around the same time the GameStop was pumping. Pulled out $500 about 2hrs later. I was happy with that. All I did was watch Reddit thread untill the sentiment went away.

Too many people expected him to mention Doge, and he did. But when it's not expected - like he tweets a picture of a shiba dog with no surrounding context, the conspiracy theorists all build up a narrative that he's shrilling Doge and therefore the price spikes up 15%. I've capitalised on those opportunities before. I've made out a comfortable amount of profit then but I was playing when Doge was 5 or 7 cents, now it's trading at 10x that amount and I've got no skin in the game cos ultimately it IS just a meme coin...

A bit of a worry that one person/organisation has such influence over crypto prices.

He proved it again today, so many people act on his every word... just silly.

It does show how fragile the market is though, so it makes sense to have good risk management in place and not be invested in the new scam coins like cumrocket, safemoon, or the copycat dog coins. Even alot of the decent alts are risky if they've had a huge runup already.

Came across this on twitter - a diversified portfolio in 2021.

If true, the poster turned $162k into $3.5M in 4 months buying a bunch of made up digital rubbish with funny dog names. My brain that has spent the best part of two decades trying to understand sound principles for investing cannot reconcile how this can possibly be a sustainable thing?

Not quite. The ~$3.5m figure is calculated as Amount x Current Price, which assumes you can find a buyer at that price for every unit you want to sell. In reality, the market depth on these plays is so shallow you'll get a tiny fraction of what you expect.
