If you want to "save your points", just redeem 108000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points for return trip from Melbourne - Auckland on Emirates First Class. You will get top notch first class service, shower at the sky, endless drops of Krugs/Doms.

That should give you a taste of First Class travel, and not put too much dent on your point balance.

You can use Virgin Velocity points to redeem on Etihad Apartments. Plenty of people have done it. I haven't yet as I have no need to travel to Europe or Middle East yet.

You can also use American AAdvantage points to redeem on Etihad Apartments. It is one of the best value redemption out there.

Given you have 1.2 million QF points, you should burn them all first before thinking about collecting more points. The lose value by sitting at "their" bank.

Ive been told the best way to spend the qantas points is via one world round the world, business class or first class, I believe its about 280k points business and 420k points for first class

We still have Virgin Credit Card as we like the free 4 flights (Australia) you receive, buy one get one free... however went to book flights today and they no longer do this, program cancelled.... damn only reason we kept this credit card.

So that explains why your avatar no longer looks like a Virgin?

Just found out my credit card has changed their terms and conditions. I used to get about $1 of gift card per $100 spend on the credit card. Now its decreased by about 25%, plus interest free days reduced.

Anybody have good recommendation for a credit card that have good conversion rates for gift cards/cashbacks?

A strata payment I have to make every 3 months does not accept credit cards. Is there a way I can somehow make it using my CC so I don't have to access my offset for a few more weeks?
