The other half and I have avoided thus far. Our masks are always on when we go out.

My household of 4 including two Uni students - all negative thus far.

It’s rife at the footy club, and son was in a car for 3 hours with a mate who tested positive the next day (so infectious) - and yet he still hasn’t got it.

My daughter’s boyfriend has had it, her workmates have had it, the kids she babysits have had it - but she still hasn’t got it.

    Fingers crossed!

    Clear so far.

But it seems to be circling closer with more friends being affected. Brother-in-law had it but my sister didn’t!

Our household have all dodged it too ... we haven't been avoiding anywhere, but we're all introverts so not party animals either

I got the man flu recently.
Totally lost my voice for 4 days.
Lost of appetite for solid food for like 3 days - due to the throat and sinus feel like someone jammed a blunt knife into the throat / sinus cavity.

Did the RAT test - came back negative to covid.
So far no COVID, but man flu smashed me a six and knock me around for 4 days.

So its my turn. Tested positive with RAT twice yesterday.

Symptoms started on Wed with a slight sore throat, which graduated to body aches and pains, low grade fever (chills), bad headache and a bearable dry cough.

Day 4 now and a bit better (maybe 30% improvement) but not 'well' yet.

I endure symptoms during day without drugs but take 2 Nurofen at night to felnormal for a better night's sleep.

Uncomfortable but by far not the worst flu/viral infection I've ever got. Am twice vaccinated (a year ago).

^^^^ The third shot, booster, might have reduced the symptoms.

I might have had it but not sure as I never got tested when some minor nasal symptoms appeared. They only lasted 2 days I think. Maybe a blood test could tell.

Believe it or not, I'm one of the unlucky few that got post vax side effects (and not trivial). Hence my hesitation for further shots. I was a huuuge proponent and was first in line to get vaxxed. But won't be doing it again.

Junior (aged 18) is the same ... first vax dropped her in hospital for a week and then sporadic visits for several months (final cardio check in a few weeks, 10 months later) ... second vax of different origin result in flu symptoms for 4-5 days ... not keen on a third so we still mask

I was made to get the Vax, but I wouldn't have got it after the reaction to the first one. I'm surprised you took her back for a second or couldn't get an exemption from the doctors. Despite what has been said, young people were perfectly safe from the virus unless they were pretty compromised with health issues. I'm by no means an anti vaxer but this one was rubbish and the government's response was pretty weird.

And I've spoken to enough doctors and nurses now that share my opinion or are fairly annoyed about how this was all played out.

Yeah I think the side effects have been underplayed, under reported and not in anyone's best interest (in the industry) to document and follow up.

Hard to have a trend in the side effect profile when a vaccine is getting rolled out in record speeds. We’d still be in lockdown if the anecdotal side effects were promoted in the media.

Possibly, but the onus is also on individuals that got the vaccine to do this. In NSW, I believe everyone who got vaccinated was asked to provide a follow up survey on symptoms.

I’m in the industry and this could not be further from the truth. Adverse event reporting for all drugs is collected not just in trials, but for more than 10 years post marketing. There are severe consequences for not doing this or hiding anything serious from the TGA.

The first one was AZ ... the dead covid protien. Our attitude is that, if this was her reaction to a dead protien, thank goodness she never got the live virus.

She is a highly knowledgeable biomed student and choose to have the second herself

I was one of the few that got post covid side effects. Triple vax, no side effects. Had Covid late March. Quite mild, over & done with in a few days. Then got a severe case of vasculitis in, I think, May. More recently blood clots in the lungs, again attributed to Covid.

I have heart palps when my heart rate is elevated. Started 2 weeks after the 2nd shot. Still get them. Before vaccinations, no issues whatsoever.

They are enough to make anyone wary if you've experienced it.

Once that happens you're really caught between a rock and a hard place wrt whether you brave Covid or more vaccinations.

3rd dose means the difference of being employed or not for some. Very difficult when adverse reactions occur and you have to decide wether to potentially compromise your health again to ensure you can put food on the table. Exemptions are near impossible to get. Probably doesn’t matter if your dead though ?? Tragic really.

You could try a different type - e.g. novavax
