Bad timing with the Janssen vaccine, shipment just arrived in Spain yesterday (and a lot of Europe) and was meant for the 70-79 group who can't have the AstraZeneca.
Pfizer and Moderna still the main ones here (40% & 25%) but this will slow things a bit.

I'm very disappointed with the media at the moment in terms of providing opinions putting it in perspective .I think it has to do with political agenda's . Every bad story is yet another free shot at sco mo , though at times he's his worst own enemy .

    off topic

Take his reaction to Christine's Holgate's accusation of Bullying , WTF can't he say something along the lines of

"It was not my intention to Bully Christine and I reject that accusation , but if my comments caused her distress I apologise for that distress . Bullying in any form is a blight on the community and is not an acceptable form of behaviour "

For someone with a marketing background , you really have to wonder how he handles things .

There's a report that a Central Coast woman has died after having received a vaccine. At this stage, it's not known which vaccine, or if there is a causal link - however, the 48yo diabetic woman was being treated for blood clots after having received a jab.

I can't find any online sources just yet.

And over 700,000 people who received the AZ vaccine haven’t.

It was a very rare event. But that won't stop the media attention, and it will probably cause delays to the rollout.

The TGA are not releasing details of what vaccine she received until they establish whether there was a link, or just coincidence. To prevent panic and misinformation being spread

Apparently she was already being treated for clots

Hubby had a near fatal pulmonary embolism (unknown cause) quite a few years ago, 6 months on warfarin.

He has had his first AZ vaccine with only minor side effects.

I had a patient over 50 with a history of DVT’s wanting to know if he could have the Pfizer vax .

Rang up the “ Specialist line “ . Contraindication for AZ is DVT and low platelet count.

So was that a "yes" or a "no"? Did they need both DVTs & low platelet count or is it a case of either/or and they qualified for Pfizer?

Bloody GP. I go simply to get a script repeat but she wants my blood.

Anyhoo, the medley of AZ vaccine issues in the media was raised. A degree of frustration to the practice it seems due to fielding patients concerns anxiousness caused by what is essentially scaremongering media headlines.

Although I expressed my sympathies, I'm still not gruntled she wants my blood. Plus she insisted on giving me a flu jab there and then despite me not asking for it. It's a vaccine so its gotta be bad.

So you would rather they do not report it at all? I like to be informed either way and make my own decision....
Agree most vaccines have adjuvants (peanut oil, aluminum or mercury) which can cause side effects, whether they are rare who knows, who does research or posts such research on past side effects? In terms on overall numbers they do but what most forget these vaccines are altered over the years.

Of course it needs to be reported. To the relevant health professionals so the causes of any matters can be investigated and resolved.

Whether media needs to report it and how it is to be reported is a different matter.

I'm more than happy for reporting - it's the sensationalism and fear-mongering (without including the perspective facts) that gets on my old fart goat

    Chill :)
It’s a good thing and probably a preventative measure to see if everything is all okay.
I have to beg my GP for a routine blood test

But most news is bad new and sensationalized most of the time, I think I read somewhere 'bad news' sells.

It's all good. She and I know each other well. I tease her and she fires back. Her stated aim is to have me attend her retirement party in 30 years time. By then I'd be 100. :D
