Would the rate of spread appear to be much slower/less virulent if there were 5x as many infected and being reported?

Wasn't this guy a radiologist with some radical ideas (good enough to match the fearless leader)?

Live: Trump's special adviser on coronavirus resigns

"More on Scott Atlas's clashes with the coronavirus task force
Atlas spent four months on the coronavirus task force before his resignation today. He is a neuroradiologist, with no expertise in infectious diseases.

Recently he apologised for giving an interview to Russia's Kremlin-backed television station RT, saying he was unaware it was a registered foreign agent in the United States.

And like I said, Atlas has been sharply criticised by other public health experts like Anthony Fauci.

He has repeatedly downplayed the importance of face masks and this month said lockdowns had been "an epic failure" in stopping its spread.

His views on the handling the pandemic have been denounced by his peers at Stanford University's medical school and elsewhere."

    Very sad.

But there were also heartbreaking cases here in Australia where loved ones were not allowed to visit dying family members. Simply no time for the compulsory 14 day quarantine, and very, very few exemptions, usually granted too late.

Yeah l think all that was bloody ridiculous , and heartless over kill.
My Slovenian friend incidentally is now stuck in Slovenia and separated from her H in Spain , until at least January . They're both in lock down. She went home to sell her workshop , caught Covid herself and now they're on 78k or abouts and in lock down.
But you know , they do at at least have good reason, 78k now and only 4m people and then Spains situation too of course.

That map really makes one pause and consider the gathering they are about to go to, doesn't it?

I saw a projection of 450K+ deaths by February. The shame of it is that it could so easily have been different.

Saw an interview with one of their doctors today and yeah he blames Trump denial and lack of leadership sure and 50 other things, but in a 10 minute interview not one mention of the people and mentality , their demos and election carry ons as if it's all a picnic. Or the 1000s and 1000s probably millions of people just all out and about doing their thing today all over the country in a little clip running down in the corner during the interview. No masks, no distancing , bars and malls , centers, crowds.
Reminds me of a thing l saw on their road toll. They blamed the most ridiculous things but not one mention , not one , of the way people drive or their speed limits , or the lack of. Not one mention, same as this interview today.
Their entitlement and the way they act, total disregard are things you don't talk about over there by the look of it apparently.

I heard that too. In many ways this will reflect badly on the incoming leader of the free world even if it wasn't his fault.

Biden says he will ask everyone to wear a mask for 100 days once he is in power and he has Fauci on his team. Let’s see if that flattens the trajectory.

Especially with everyone wearing that mask!

That has become a political statement over there, in a way which hasn't really happened here. People here generally on both sides of politics have a belief that the virus is real and serious.

    Like this:
A South Dakota nurse says some of her COVID-19 patients still refuse to accept that the virus is “real” – even in their dying moments.

Jodi Doering, an emergency department nurse, said she’s seen gravely ill patients gasping for breath – but are adamant that coronavirus doesn’t exist, CNN reported.

“Their last dying words are, ‘This can’t be happening. It’s not real,’” Ms Doering said on CNN’s New Day on Monday.

I see that George Dubya, Clinton & Bazza are all lining up to support getting the jab.
