    Just keepen comen Vic.
l went across state again today 5hrs each way so a fair hike. The difference today compared to my last trip through those parts a few mths ago, was just beautiful to see. Mostly small towns apart from Bendigo but people were happy and busy and out and about , cafes and bars and all the smaller towns were bustling away . Called into one for a beer on the way home and he was reopening tomorrow, timing, first time in 5mths , so he had no cold beer yet damn. But you couldn't wipe the grin of he's face , truck out side bringing in all the new stock.
All so nice to see, just like this time last year. Who would've thought then this was all on it's way just a few mths later .

    Today's Victorian numbers: :)

28 days of no new cases in the community. Although this is the benchmark for elimination of this virus I hope we don't let our guard down.

    Well done Victoria!

Especially since many kids have no symptoms at all, that was the case with the covid +ve kids in my sons class, who were only tested because of close contact with a +ve person. And seems one kid spread it while being asymptomatic.

I'm sorry, but celebrities should not get special treatment. One rule for all otherwise the rules are a farce.

He has to stay out too for now. Not an Australian citizen or resident. There is a big line of residents who still haven't been able to come home... why should they be allowed to queue jump?

While it could be seen to be a superspreader event, he doesn't make contact with people, and as long as every house he visits is given a deep clean before presents are opened, there shouldn't be a problem.

Santa normally goes down a lot of chimneys, so I assume he's had flue shots.

Now we have a WA covidiot alert.

Police report quarantine breaches in Western Australia

WA police say three interstate travellers breached their quarantine requirements yesterday as the state prepares to further ease its border restrictions.

A 50-year-old woman, who arrived from interstate, are due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court later this month on four counts of failing to comply with a direction.

It's alleged she left her self-quarantine accommodation four times to buy fast food and will now be required to complete her quarantine at a secure hotel.

A 37-year-old woman will be fined after police found her out for a walk with her four-year-old daughter while both were supposed to be in self-quarantine.

Police say they'd arrived on an interstate flight on Monday morning and have both since been moved to a quarantine hotel.

Comes back again to how she caught it though (like the school girl at Woodville pizza) - was it surface transmission, aerosol, physical contact? Knowing the transmission path is so importnant because then we can really concentrate on the protection measures.

To be clear: those changes are for Victoria, right? The link title makes it sound like a NSW change.

This will be the last weekend we need to check everyone in for Little Athletics on a Saturday morning here in NSW to ensure we remain under our 500 person limit (which we've been hitting most weeks). From Monday our community sport limits are high enough that we effectively don't have any limits (and it would be extremely crowded out there if we got to anywhere close to 2 people per square meter restriction!)

Was watching the cricket yesterday and it looks like the SCG will be at full capacity for tomorrow’s game. One of the commentators from the UK was saying how amazing it is that how we in Australia can have full stadiums, people out and about enjoying the beach, no masks etc, when it’s the complete opposite in some parts of world. Made me so proud hearing how well we have done. The lockdowns and restrictions were tough, and at times frustrating, but worth it now that we are some what on the other side.
