Yes test numbers are low but that's usually the case with weekend testing. Not to mention we also had a severe thunderstorm roll through Melbourne in the afternoon.

This guy is not an Australian national. It may well be that the reason he lied is that he was employed illegally. Just guessing.

Yeah we really need to make sure the sewage testing works and is in place! Did they ever figure out the Altona fragments?

Sounds like cash on hand. Also, the employer would have the person in some record book, so I think the employer is equally liable.

True that there is no jail terms for lying - but, the cost to the SA government and economy? Butterfly effect ...

Queensland has had random sewerage positive results over the last few months. None traced to active cases.

I think it's about time Victoria started taking some of the inbound traveller load - Dec 7 I think is the current plan ... I don't see why they can't start now?

It's my understanding the rebooted hotel quarantine program required some slight changes be made as per the interim findings from Justice Coate's review.

"An Andrews government spokeswoman said on Friday that Victoria had asked Prime Minister Scott Morrison to lock in the date of December 7 "to allow the final preparations for Victoria's reset quarantine accommodation program for returned travellers to take place". Source: The Age.

Also, Victoria will be the only State where those contracted to work at these hotels will not only be allowed to work elsewhere, but will also be excluded from the program if anyone in their household works in a high risk setting (i.e. Aged Care).

Sorry what I meant to say was anyone working at quarantine hotels will NOT be allowed to work elsewhere and cannot reside in the same household as someone working in a high risk setting (i.e. Aged Care).

One thing Qld does that I think makes sense is to transfer any person in quarantine who tests positive to hospital.

Waste of time in most cases - IMHO.

Looks like SA is still trying to keep this latest thing contained.

A new Covid-19 case was detected overnight in a female high school student. The school has since been closed and many students and teachers have been asked to self-isolate and to get tested if they have symptoms.

Why don't they just test them instead of waiting for symptoms? I mean COVID is infectious well before symptoms isn't it?
