The wife wants it done at our medical clinic in Brisbane due to her health situation (breast cancer, hypertension, ...). We have been with them for 32+ years, same doctor. We follow the same procedure with flu shots.

Once we have our COVID shots, it is our plan to transfer our medical records to a GP on the GC.

    Understandable.

We were in a similar situation, hubby has a very complex medical history including previous near-fatal blood clots (pulmonary embolism). He consulted his doctor of 40+ years, a single practitioner who was not offering covid shots, before being given the go ahead. We then booked at a nearby clinic.

For the third time in 6 months, poised to book flights to meet the "now" year old first Grandie in Adelaide ... only for a potential new outbreak

Pause button pressed ... again

Why, after all of the success of NSW's ability to monitor movements of patrons through the use of QR codes, does Victoria fail on such a small requirement?

Any time a returned traveler tests positive for covid aren't they moved away from the non positive/other returning travelers ???

After all the lessons learned from Victoria about keeping travelers and staff seperate or the ventilation requirements needed, how are other states getting it so wrong still !

It's been PURE LUCK that a quarantine outbreak hasn't gotten out of control :rolleyes:o_O

In all the venues we've visited, I've only ONCE been asked to show that I've used the QR code before being allowed to order.

Anyone can pretend to do the right thing. It should be better policed in my opinion. No entry, or minimum no food order without showing the QR code "tick".

I am regional NSW and most places check QR codes have been completed. Even the local outdoor coffee place at the local beach checks when you order a coffee.

In the SA instance once the originator person tested positive they were moved to another location. It is possible the act of moving them is how the person who returned to Melbourne got infected, ie he left his room to go to new location and created aerosolised virus in the hallway, new infectees door opened and the virus came in or something like that.

It pretty much is pure luck that this hasn't been more of an issue. They are learning more and more every week and playing catch up on best practises after every event to try and prevent it but it is still not consistant over all the states as they all have their own protocols and procedures.

We had ours on Monday and no side effects at all. We're in the over 50 category.

    Very efficient at the
    Sydney Olympic Park

Which is not the main NSW Govt mass vacc centre but is very near it - on Australia Ave Olympic Park.

In the infamous words of a bratty 80s tennis player ... "you can't be serious!"

Or third attempt, in 6 months, to try and get down to see our first ... now 1 year old ... grandie in SA. First two times SA slammed the border shut to NSW ... this time, being no direct flights, we're booked to fly thru Melbourne.

Hoping any ban doesn't affect transits, and/or only those from identified suburbs

    Sheesh

@Lizzie, every time you try and fly somewhere the borders get shut.

Can I kindly suggest, for the benefit of all Australians, that you stop trying to fly anywhere? :D

    Sorry to hear!
There are direct flights from Sydney on QF. Maybe an option?

Got a week until we leave, will play it by ear. Was trying to avoid the 3hr Sydney traffic drive (yuck) and it costs near as much to park as to fly atm

Could you catch the train through to Sydney Airport?

I enjoy the train trip from Newcastle. It's a chance to enjoy the water views along the way.

Could - but painful with the change at Central ... we have the time ... could always simply drive the whole way and be done with it.

That change can be short or REALLY long. My last o/seas trip just shy of COVID we waited at Central for the airport line for 40 minutes with no trains in start of peak. After whizzing through from Castle Hill (Metro). When it arrived EVERYONE got off then it was filled. We planned to wait for the next and were told - It may be a way off as its not even in the city circle yet so best you get on. And that was just on peak hour. The worst part is the idiots at City Rail run old crap trains that are double decker with no luggage area and everyone in the doorways. Every other country in the world with airport train has luggage cars, spacious spots for bikes and bags etc. Arriving at the airport is a small inadequate lift that is slowwwwwww. Designed by a crash test dummy aftre one too many bangs on the head

But that only takes you to the ticket exit where their is usually only one manned wider gate...No you must change lifts again to go up one level ?

There are no other types of trains on the line or purpose-built trains for the line, they are only diverted trains from main line. You can't expect convenience as well as service.
