Don't forget an airport cafe worker worked an 8 hour shift whilst infectious and there were 29 domestic flights in that terminal during the shift. This is a danger for the whole nation, rural Vic included.

Of course, while we have international and state travel allowed, covid will always be a danger.
It just doesn’t seem right to lockdown people in say Mildura, for something that is happening metro melbourne.

Authorities are trying to contact 1,500 people in Queensland who travelled through the airport terminal where two infected workers were working for a full shift, and 7,000 in NSW. It's very possible there were a lot more people who travelled into Victoria or through the terminal - or other affected areas.

It may be overkill. But where there's a new highly contagious variant of the virus in the wild, it's much safer to restrict too much than too little.

I understand and I realise it is a pain for all involved. However there are at least 3 direct flights to Mildura per day from Tullamarine as well as at least another 20 connecting MEL-MQL flights.

NEGOTIATIONS UNDERWAY TO ALMOST TRIPLE HOWARD SPRINGS CAPACITY
THE federal and NT governments are reportedly in negotiations to almost triple the capacity of the Howard Springs facility to take 2000 overseas travellers per fortnight up from 800

    30kms SE of Darwin.

    Sounds like a plan.

    1 more identified in Melb.

Are these things getting harder to detect? They are declaring this one positive, although 3 negative + 1 weak positive on this person.

I'm in group 1b I think. Something to do with my work as a carer.

But I'm not too worried about the timing here in Australia. I'd much rather be here without a vaccine than be vaccinated in many other countries.

Me too. But I don't mind having a few million guinea pigs go first.
