full report here: Property Resale Winners Outstrip the Losers – 9 out of 10 Properties Resold Earn Profit Over June 2017 Quarter

    "Greater Brisbane

Greater Brisbane: 4.1% of houses resold in the June 2017 quarter transacted below their previous purchase price compared to 25.8% of units. The gap between losses on houses and units has continued to widen over the quarter. Across the broader South-East Queensland region, the instances of resales at a profit were greatest in: Redland (94.6%), Logan (93.0%) and Sunshine Coast (92.8%). The instances of resales at a profit were lowest in: Lockyer Valley (78.9%), Scenic Rim (88.0%) and Ipswich (88.6%). "

re "the resales at a profit", does it mean ppl who bought in Redland & Logan did not buy a bargain ( because the previous owners made a profit), or it means the prices in these areas have picked up?

    :);)

Resale at profit? Includes any who bought (however long ago) and then sold only $1K more than they paid!

And reports on sale prices only, excluding stamp duty, commissions and other transaction costs.

Stats like this are quite meaningless.

I don't know that you can make that assertion. Brisbane 4.1 % sits between Sydney 1.9%/Melbourne 1.1% (Boomed/Booming) and Perth 24.2%/Darwin 28.4% (Tanked/Tanking), far closer to Sydney & Melbourne than Perth & Darwin, I would say Brisbane has far more orderly movements.

What is of concern and more telling is the gap between houses & units. Looks like those who bought/buying units could be in for a far more wild ride.
