Haven't bought in D Bay . Had an offer accepted today ( in Adelaide ...Thanks DT - will post later ) and if that goes through , I will post about where I've been buying in Brisbane

Interestingly , I have seen the exact logic behind why we bought where we bought posted by someone else in recent weeks

This is the second place we've bought sight unseen . The previous place in rocky , we bought and sold never having seen it .

I still haven't seen our Hobart property ( my wife has ) which we bought over ten years ago ...That was also a chat room buy .

I also have a property in Wynnum. Before buying I actually flew up and drove around to get a feel for the area.
From what I can see, it's a great place to live and/or raise a family. I drove around before my inspection and by 8am, the Esplanade was already filling up with residents out for a Sunday BBQ. By 11am the Esplanade was jam packed with families enjoying the park, kids abundant in the wading pool and locals running a marathon. All the restaurants by the bay were filled to capacity also.
Helped a local man unload his ute and found out he moved up from Sydney 10+ years ago. His main appeal about Wynnum + surrounds is that they are 'dead-end' suburbs. His definition of this is they are places where people don't come to 'pass by'. Most who come to Wynnum more than likely end up staying. This allows for stability and prospect of future growth.
Not sure if this is correct but that was one man's opinion.
Personally, I thought it was a great place to raise a family. Has a small town feel to it. Not sure about the night life though?

    Thx Rico.

Yep house definitely had a few leaks. Not uncommon for a property of that age though. B&P inspector ran the bath/shower for a while and it didn't leak for the time the water was running.
The bottom only had half a slab layed. Which isn't a bad thing since digging the dirt on the other half might allow for legal height ;)

Yeah few termite issues here n there but mainly in the fence. No barrier either but thats expected.
Other than that, place was solid as a rock. Was expecting rotten stairs but even those were in decent nick.
These houso properties are definitely 'what you see is what you get'. I guess the greatest appeal is that they are a solid blank canvas from which you can build/add value. Plus no chance of tenants wrecking the place as there's nothing to wreck :p

McGahey would have been flooded in the 2015 flood event (could be a one off due to the railway construction) I wouldn't buy it.

Drysdale looks ok, price is average I'd say...

Anzac is on a pretty busy road and only bound to get busier, you have cars slowing down and speeding up for the roundabout which is a very busy roundabout, lots of trucks too... I wouldn't buy this one either due to the noise.

A question that when Brisse or Aussie go for a beach holiday or weekend, where will they go?

Maybe first choice is gold coast? Then Manly? Redland? Nuggee beach? Redcliffe? Deception Bay (Not sure if people like to buy/live somewhere called deception)?

In those suburbs which close to water, which suburb you think have good potential?

    Weekend and living are different

I don't think ANYONE is suggesting D Bay is a weekender destination ...

I would suggest visiting the "beach" at Nudgee Beach.

Thanks, good article, if they do a little bit research, they should know Logan has reputation, or they buy because of low price.
