Personally I would rethink the oak. Too yellow for my taste.

I've used the natural Oak a few times and think it's not too bad. Also it's a popular style/color for the area.

A good RSL carpet will match anything a punter can throw up. [IMG]

Cinder with the Handles, Graphite without imo.

I suggest taking a grey card to any colour appointments, will help see cool (blue/green) or warm tones in the greys you goto buy.

I'd listen to your interior designer. I've just spent three hours this week with ours, and some of her explanations about why she chose something over another makes so much sense now.

After I give a detailed brief to my interior designer of the style, colors etc I'm looking for, I usually go with the recommendations which come back after some back and forth. I do like sometimes to also get a wider perspective on colors because I feel sometimes interior designers can be a little too arty smarty in their own world. I've never felt 100% comfortable with just going with everything any of my interior designers recommended.

Not too far off Mate. Earlier I said wrong stone, the island and waterfall 40mm is smart stone statuario venato and splashback is also statuario venato. The Oak Matt wraps around the island barback.

The shaded joinery is Cinder or Graphite and the yellow top is Oak Matt.

Was so surprised a facebook ad came up with something close to what you were talking about, those cookies are getting smarter.

Consider making that cutlery drawer 900mm wide and ditching the cupboard next to it. 600mm minimum - that extra width is pure hollywood and people will love you for it

Also note that in your inspo wooden handle pictures the top drawer is cutlery depth and the bottom two are EQ depth deeper drawers. This is a very good combination. You can put cooking implements in top drawers and pots/pans in the bottom 2. More functional than 3 EQ depths drawers

Too much of a cookie cutter approach.

Will get costings for changes. I can't resist adding in some Hollywood flair:cool:

There is a big WIP though to the side of the wine holes for storage, prep and more bench space not shown on plans here.

Generally it's very little extra. All the cost is in creation of a drawer not the width. So I take it down to 3 drawers and get a credit for the 4th and then make it either 2 cutlery depth and one super deep (if it's 600mm wide) or one cutlery drawer and 2 deeper drawers (if its 900mm).

In your layout the island will presumably be used for serving/prep so you might end up with a cutlery drawer at the island and the other underneath the hotplate for cooking utensils

I like this option I'll see if its not too late to make the change. We're in the grey area atm of everything being signed off on maaaaybe 1 thing left to finalize so... I am not sure if it will trigger a variation...in which case it wont be worth it.

@Westminster the 3 equal drawers on the cooktop bench I realised is about 25cm each in height . I think it's enough space to store larger items in all three drawers so I'm gonna keep that config. I have asked though to make 3 drawers on the island, getting rid of the cupboard to make them wider. I'll see what comes back. Hopefully no variation.
