Got a new addition, highly recommended coffee machine

    Breville BES880

    Purchased coffee beans from
Our favourite barista but the coffee has a bitter taste. Damn

I think its just trial and error until we get it right

    Any tips welcome

You'll need to experiment with the grind.

    Thanks

Also thinking barista course, it should be fun

Prior to this machine I was using pods, I honestly cant stand them. Expensive but not real coffee and wasteful packaging .... bad all around

I just purchased this Piccolo Espresso®
Read good reviews. Lets see once this arrives, I will experiment with different beans and grinds.

My hubby insists on drinking that awful Cuppacino stuff ... open the sachet, tip into the cup, pour in the water and it all froths up supposedly like a cappuccino ... tasted one once ... urgh ... chemical overload and disgusting coffee

That does not count as coffee...... but then..... I drink from a PLUNGER (Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I hear people scream :D:D:D:D)

FWIW here's my review of beans (pre-ground I have used)
    • Lazzio (Aldi) medium - terrible! Taste like and looks like dishwater.
    • Lazzio (Aldi) Dark - not bad, the darkness hides a lot of sin.
    • Vittoria Italian Blend - solid, my daily go-to coffee
    • Bean Ground and Drunk Classic Roast - very nutty, really nice.

Picked up my supply last Friday - out of stock as he was still roasting in the morning. Came back later in the day, still warm. :D

    Admittedly, it ain't cheap. :p

Those prepackaged blends can be weeks/months old, just like imported virgin olive oils.

I have been using a Sunbeam Cafe Series machines for over 10 years [I've had two] it makes great cappuccinos and I have got it down to a fine art, however, takes practice ... :D Have been buying beans from Buy Coffee Beans Online | BAY BEANS [Sydney] and grinding every morning.
Beans from the supermarket are old and not worth buying ... :(

    Forsyth Coffee House

The factory vacuum seals it, the shop just bags it up.

Actually, how do people rate the pre-pack supermarket coffee grinds to a capsule?

    The Y-man

Edit - oops, they are apparently called "pods".... :p

Guilty as charged as the stockpile in my kitchen (built up whenever it's on offer) will show.
