NSW Choice of builder or developer

    We are looking to buy our first home (PPOR), preferrably house, but we haven't ruled out townhouse or apartment just yet.
    How do we verify the developer or builder of the property in terms of quality. From various forums what I have gathered is that nowadays properties build in recent years are not as good in terms of quality as compared to say 10-15 years ago. Probably because of the booming market there could be a rush to complete the project quickly by cutting corners.
    I am not sure how reliable is google reviews. Is there any platform to get some verified or reliable reviews. I am relatively new to Australia, so pretty much all the developers are unknown to me.

    Ask to see some properties under construction?

    Apart from that as said above, if you believe older properties are more quality, buy one of them?

    Older property cons:
    Higher stamp duty
    Maintainance/repairs etc
    Older Property Pros:
    Land scarcity
    Move in/tenant straight away
    Value add potential with renovations
    Subdivision potential
    Development potential
