I find this a fascinating subject...

Having charisma certainly wont hurt, I can only see positives.

    Here is another link
10 Habits of Remarkably Charismatic People | TIME.com

    definition of charisma -
A rare personal quality attributed to leaders who arouse ferment popular devotion and enthusiasm
A special or rare charm that makes people want to follow them

Here are some habits of a remarkably charismatic person

They listen more than they talk
    They don't practice selective hearing
    They connect
They don't act self important...because they realise other people are more important
    They shine spotlight on others
    They chose their words
They don't discuss the failings of others but they readily admit their failings

I think the above outlines how to be a decent human being rather than being charismatic.

My guess is that not too many people can tick every item on the list.

I don't meet too many people who actually listen, most people want to talk about themselves. Don't know if others have the same experience, was discussing this with a good friend, she said exactly the same thing.

Too true. I don't go around telling people in real life that i own multiple propertys.

I know people who will let me know every time they spend money. Like its a huge deal

Yes I think charisma is a very important characteristic of living a successful wealthy life.

Although I do see some succesful people who suffer from the wanka syndrome.

This disorder is quite common amongst the bogan community but suprisingly also appears in the upper echelons of society.

Good point. The book or the app is bound to be out in time for Xmas!

Charisma is more than being a nice person who shows empathy and it is not necessarily a good thing - it can be manipulative.

For example, workplace psychopaths can be charismatic, cult leaders etc.

When I think of Charismatic people I think good looks go a long way

Love it RW, but charisma has nothing whatsoever to do with physical appearance.

Geez, that guy needs new teeth.....LOL

Actually that is a very good point, its not a good thing if you are a born psychopath or sociopath, deadly recipe.
They called the serial killer, Ted Bundy a charismatic psychopath. Fortunately most people wont fit this criteria.

Belford "Wolf of Wall Street" he had charisma by the bucket load and basically used it to con/steal from investors.

Whether charisma = wealth...... you would still need to have the drive, passion/ambition to pusue goals and the never give up approach, not sure whether charismatic person will have these traits.

Yes you would still need to have the other factors I mentioned and be interested in pursuing strategies to grow wealth.

If you have this and charisma then the world is your oyster, I will never know.... LOL

I think that's what Xenia was maybe suggesting earlier. I'm with Marisa, I've got no idea!

Stanford Research Institute did a study according to John Maxwell and basically it said that money you make in any endeavour is determined only 12.5% by your knowledge and 87.5% by your ability to deal with people. Now I know its a generalisation and probably impossible to put it down to exact numbers and wont apply to all 'jobs' but when I apply it to myself and think how true it is, I find myself agreeing with the basic premise - that most of the money I made is far less as a result of the knowledge I have and much more weighted on my ability to leverage off and work with/manage others in my investment undertakings to achieve success.

I would like to think that charisma without empathy........is a short lived quality........and eventually, you will be seen as the "Empire with no clothes".

Exactly. One of my children ate a bucket load of crab on Mothers Day.....and that made him feel like he was "King" for the day.

I think this was an factor with my last deal. Myself and my investment partner spent time going through a property, talking to the agent, sharing ideas, sharing anecdotes and basically building up a rapport with him. When it was time to put in the offer, we did the same thing, chatting and sharing real estate stories, talking, listening and building up rapport. Two offers were presented and ours was the successful bid. Perhaps the other party did not spend so much time building up that rapport? If I catch up with the agent after settlement, I might ask out of interest ;)

Did it ever occur to you, that your offer could be just 'more' than his?

When the agent left, the plan was to have both parties submit a best and final offer. 30 minutes later, we had a deal. I don't know what changed. Maybe the seller made the call?
