character listed properties in brisbane

    I was wondering if anyone is aware of character listed Queenslanders being able to be relocated or must they remain on the land on which they stand? Thanks for any replies...

    I've seen some removal houses for sale that have said they are character listed and can only be relocated to blocks that are zoned character residential.

    That's the removal mob I saw advertising that particular house. Maybe give them a ring and ask how successful they are with relocating the character houses to character lots.

    Give RPI a message. I am guessing the outcome you are hoping to reach is to clear a block in a DCP area to build something new?

    Thanks Tim and Wylie. I spoke with council and the ones that can be relocated have to be built prior to 1911. Basically it has to be structurally unsound according to an engineer, otherwise it stays where it is...

    There are often local plans that can allow for you to move them off as well as in individual cases, eg no character left in the street.

    I know two properties locally that have somehow made it off to allow new builds, both in DCP, both part of a run of three character houses. Mysterious how this somehow can happen...
