    Hello,

Hoping I can get a recommendation for a broker in Canberra?
My partner and I are your FHB typical dual-income public servants, and we have enough saved for healthy 25% deposit.

We're technically not eligible for FHB as my partner previously had a property in Sydney which she claimed for - but has now sold.

We are considering Clarity or Trilogy in Canberra, but are open to receiving recommendations via PMv or by posting.

We are looking to purchase within the next 3-4 months.

Happy to provide more details if that helps with recommendations.

    Cheers,
    PK

I got formal approval through Clarity last week and got a deal far better than I expected. It did take a bit longer than I expected (3 weeks), but I put that down to them not having a specialist relationship with the bank I ended up going with. Assuming that nothing untoward happens before settlement (early next year), I'm happy to recommend them.

Ed: having said that, if you have a bank already picked out, you might pick a broker affiliated with that bank just because it might be a bit faster.

    Also interested.
I am an ANZ customer for the longest time but offered less than I anticipated.
I was expecting $1m but only got $500k.

    I will check out Clarity

All the brokers in this forum work Australia wide, so have a read and pick someone you relate to if you like the convenience of online.

Trilogy and More Than Mortgages are both good choices also if you want to sit in an office with your broker. :)

Its never about dealing with an organisation but rather the individual.

Jamie Moore is a broker on this forum and I'm pretty sure he is based in Canberra - he is a very nice and knowledge person so definitely hit him up for advice and compare that with the advice you get elsewhere.

    Cheers guys

PK - as mentioned above. If you’re comfortable with using email/phone, etc then you can choose any broker in the country.

If you you prefer face to face then you’ve got plenty of good options in Canberra.

I didn't realise you were still in Canberra too! I thought 100% in the sun these days ;)
