    Hey all,

Just curious what the process is?

I would love to purchase some Disney shares, not because I think they will skyrocket, just cos I want to part own Walt Disney world. :)

So how does one go about purchasing a small amount of shares? Or is it something that is not worth the grief come tax time?

    Thanks :)

If you purchase VGS you'll get 0.45349% of Walt Disney Co. (DIS) ;)

    You could try Stake ?

It’s not worth the grief come tax time. Better to buy aus domiciled etfs

If you are determined you need a broker offering international shares, try IG or Interactive Brokers.

All the big 4 banks have trading platforms and you can buy most international shares. The biggest mistake any investor could have made in the last 10 yrs was not buying international shares- in particular tech stocks on nasdaq. Obviously now is not the best time as many analysts are talking about a crash and also the Aud$ is so low. Best time to have bought was when the $ was at parity with the USD. Then when the AUD falls you make huge gains due to the exchange rates. If you buy now and the AUD heads north to parity then you will lose huge money. Its unlikely now but who knows down the track. good luck

    Thanks for the replies.

    Ended up going with Stake.com.au

I am not so sure it is about making heaps of money, more just about the desire to own.

Anyways, your all welcome come round to my place.

By my place, I mean Walt Disney world, and by mine - I mean half a blade of grass on the front lawn. :)

@Redwing Yup, that's exactly what I was looking at.

I think it is $50USD and they won't post to Australia, so would need to go through a freight forwarder - But pretty cool to have hanging on the wall.

But I might wait to see if they update the certificate when the 21st Century Fox deal goes thru

Beware a lot of these model are custodian ownership, the site is a bit misleading that it in your name, all these sites are operate in custody model

your name just appear as a % stake on the ownership of the custodian
