    looking for recommendations for a accounting app for small business. Are the free ones any good?
    Looking at doing invoicing, statements and record keeping etc.

    I wouldn't rely on the free ones - for something as important as business bookkeeping, I would invest in a system which is going to give you what you need and actually be around for you to use it.

    I use Saasu - it's a bit cheaper than Xero and will do everything you need. Xero is also a good choice and more widely used.

    There is a new app in development by the Saasu team targeted at small/micro businesses which may be what you're looking for - but that's a way off being ready yet.

    Xero is good,
