    Hi, everyone.
I am thinking of adding verandah, deck and a car port onto the property, a bit scared of the building permit application, wondering what's the guideline to avoid it. What is the usual way to do it ? Is the building permit inevitable?

Lots of questions, called the council a couple of times, got different answers.

We are in whitehorse council, melbourne, victoria

Any advice would be appreciated !

You need approval, why are you concerned about this?

Are you planning to DIY or employee someone to do it.

Most companies you employee will be able to assist with the council approval, they will likely lodge it for you and have experience in doing so.

You'll be even scareder if you don't get it permitted and they order you to demolish.
