Those photos of Woolloongabba and Greenslopes are problem areas whenever we have prolonged rain and not a surprise. There are times the whole spread of the soccer fields are covered completely when the large drain that runs the length from Ridge Street to Stones Corner is overwhelmed.

This was a minor incident thank goodness, the news loves a good beat up though. The news tonight said its headed to Sydney, Vic and even Tas. You got to hate the old east coast lows.

There were pictures of people with umbrellas. One more nail and my ark is finished thank goodness.

Seriously - people had three day's warning and still left their cars parked next to creeks.
The lower carpark at Toombul usually has huge signs at each entrance warning patrons not to use it when a storm is imminent.

When I was in Cairns I went fishing on the side of a river just north of the city.

The next day I went to a croc show and saw how stealth those things are. Also their roar is scary and those iridescent green eyes!

I never went near the water again.

A text msg straight from my insurance mate yesterday read.

"2 cars swept away at toombul shopping centre. Surely everyone knows it floods there. It will be a case for fraud I reckon"

Then bring out the EV's and power everything from the sun via our rooftops.

Oh wait, that would decimate 2 of the largest industries on earth and government revenues would plummet.

Here, you hold this hot potato now... I'm done.

It was welcoming rain. Over the last 3 days, we received 103mls. This equates to 30% of our YTD rain.

We have had a dry year so far. Our YTD total is 347mls. At the same time last year, we had received 1,052mls. Yep, we are 700mls or 28 inches behind last year.

Hopefully, we will have a wet winter.

I think two cars were actually driving along adjacent Widdop Street when they got swept up by Kedron Brook!

    No way.

There are a few spots in Brisbane that have flash flooding every time there is heavy or constant rain. Yesterday was nothing unusual at all. Today the sun is shining; although it's a freezing 21 degrees.

Top sunny day in QLD today,we had about 110ml in the rain gauge,2 properties in Rocklea the water came about half way into the park, when the creek broke it's banks,if you have the right flood insurance that has been tested in 2011,then what happens at least you are prepared..
