Weekends tend to get more people. That one we had at Moorooka last year had about ? 30 people?

 

Sounds good we should try do one each month. Agree on a weekend too might get a few more there.

I was thinking of getting onto that this week, let's do it!

It sounds like we've agreed that a Northside meetup is overdue and the Eatons Hill Hotel is a good spot. Weekends seems to be more doable for some as well, are we thinking another dinner or is lunch easier? Friday night, Saturday or Sunday? If we do a Fri/Sat night, is there going to be enough parking and will it be too loud? (i.e. when does the music start).

 

Maybe a lunch on Saturday or Sunday would be better.

I happen to be in Brisbane, finally. Is this like a noisy bar? I can’t stand even moderately noisy bars. Having to speak above normal volume isn’t something I enjoy doing.

 

Both Chermside and the EH are likely to be very busy now that it's "Christmas" trading. Chermy parking was good at 4pm a few weeks ago but that was mid-week. I noticed the Bavarian tavern had a $5 happy hour that got my attention when I walked past.

I cant comment on when the music starts at EH as it is always different. The outdoor concerts seem to start at 4pm and the big ballroom ones, like Jimmy Barnes, about 7:30 from memory. The upstairs regular nightclub is "later" than dinnertime.

Any meetup that I book will be at a quiet venue.

 

I agree we definitely want a quiet venue, it's frustrating when you can't chat at a regular volume.
