For the same reason they use "rods" - very convenient when the block is waterfront (like anywhere in Brisvegas).

'vhergee colectionn' I'd imagine (not very good with phonetics).

But Kerbside collection is the officially sanctioned term. There are lots of slang terms, but most refer to the people scavenging rather the 'verge collection' itself.

There's still a few highset Queenslanders with legal height subfloors on widow blocks of at least 16 perch in some parts of Brissy. Even fewer within 200m of a centre.

There's still a few houses on stumps at least 1.5m high in the "Queenslander" timber house style, with legal height for occupancy of at least 2.4m floor to ceiling height below the main house. Blocks are on a corner with uneven lengths and not regular, but at least 405m2. Even fewer of them within 200m of a group of shops designated as a "centre" under the Brisbane City Council planning rules. :D

    Yes on the 405m2

As fot the scratching of head- may be knits (lice) - use a fine tooth comb and kero to kill the eggs.

I think it's mainly the Queenslanders living in Queenslanders in Queensland who are affected.

@vbplease Does it then mean that you can add bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms etc? A "granny flat" under the main house?

Short answer is, most likely. Long answer, depends on a few conditions within the BCA. You can't just raise a house to 2400mm install a slab and frame up bedrooms. You need to consider external surface drainage for example. You need to get familiar with the BCA or chat with a certifier.

I'm not so sure about that - the only time I hear it NSW is as a negative (eg a Mickey Mouse operation/company etc)
