I think the announcements re: Olympics are very positive for those suburbs south of the river. It seems as though the thoughts are to develop south of the river with many Billions of dollars and turn it into a real show case for the nation.

I can't wait to hear South of the river declared as 'the best games ever'.

Hahhaha I thought you’d like that , we have some avid southsiders at work so I use that to needle them , they refer to Taringa where I live as Ipswich heights

Just be careful that river really snakes around in strange directions could be tricky sometimes to determine if you’re north or south of it ;)

Is that the world's craziest widescreen tv in the lounge. So bizzare.

I know it's not really on the theme of the topic but rented a 3/2/2 house in Bald Hills within hours for a tidy $600/wk. 7 applications, only one not worth considering.

window with a shutter on the outside maybe ? It is odd. Wonder what the construction cost would have been on that place , looks nice but not spectacular

What a disaster that would be.. it's a fact that every modern Olympics has resulted in a net loss for the host city.. everyone will forget about Brisbane a few years after the event anyway. The money would be better spent on drought proofing QLD, for example..

I've no doubt the same spec house would get a better result in Clayfield/Ashgrove.. It's not a bad result for Camp Hill though.. as they say a rising tide lifts all boats even south of the chocolate river :D

Don't let it worry you. Clearly the spend is concentrated on South of the river and those is postcode 4152 will be able to hear the cheers and starting pistols. Swimming Velodrome already at Belmont. 4152 will have best seats in the housr. Maybe THAT is why 4152 is going gangbusters.

Get urselves a big TV if u live north of the river. That is only way u will be able to experience once in a lifetime event.

If only 'entering' was an Olympic sport we could have 'breaking' ( a real olympic sport ) and 'entering' ..... we would have to argue our case cos West End is capital of crime.

Happy with hotwiring. Locals have a good chance of meddling.

I ended up inspecting Cedar and Donaldson. Cedar is fantastic. Amazing property, owners built it as he is a builder, 5 years old, great specs and really really well designed for a small block. No idea what that sells for, maybe 1-6-1-7?

Donaldson has its charms but the block is nuts. 5 metres from the front door is the house on the front of the block. Heard the agent say they want around 1.1. I couldn't pay that personally. If we are looking for long-term value, that ain't it IMO
