Brisbane Council property with a granny flat

    Hi All,

    I am currently living in the bayside suburbs in Brisbane and I’m looking at getting into the property market within the next 6 – 12 months.

    I like the idea of adding a granny flat to an existing dwelling however I know that you are not able to have a dual income in the Brisbane Council.

    I was thinking..

    Let say I purchase a PPOR in Brisbane bayside, then in the future build a granny flat (for myself). I could live in the granny flat (like an onsite landlord who obviously doesn’t pay rental) and rent out the main dwelling to a tenant.

    Is that possible?
